The stage Lithuania was missing
Ana Umnova – director, choreographer and the mind behind Jazz Happens.
Ana started dancing jazz at sixteen and went on to teach it internationally. But she dreamed of something else: dancing on a theatre stage. Even globally, jazz dance tends to stay within its own community – and in Lithuania, there were simply no stage productions in the genre.
So Ana built that stage herself. She left a stable job, invested her savings and assembled a team to create on her own terms, in a safe and inspiring environment.
Today Jazz Happens plays the country’s biggest cities to audiences aged six to well over eighty. And no two shows are ever the same – each one is fine-tuned a little further.
